We’re thrilled to report that four of the trainees from the Dubancho training in November have reported back to us. On their own, they have trained eighty-four additional church leaders in evangelism and follow-up using our materials. Please pray for these trainees, as well as the other 116 who will bring their reports in soon. We believe God is building a movement in Dubancho to equip local church leaders, to bring many into a lasting relationship with Jesus and community with one another.
Eskinder and Desta are going this coming week to Agena, Ethiopia, to train sixty church leaders. This area is Coptic, and they celebrate Epiphany next week. Eskinder asked for prayer for safety, as our trainees (who go out to evangelize as part of their practice during the week) may be in danger from crowds.
Eskinder and Desta will then join our part-time trainer, Adanech, for training in a region she supervises in the first week of February. The city of Bedesa is a high-conflict zone where the three local tribes frequently clash and it is pulling the church apart at the seams.
Our prayer is that the sixty trainees in Bedesa will be a crucial part of God’s plan to unite His people to reach out with the good news of the gospel—and that the new testimony of the region will be that peace in relationship with God has led to peace between the peoples.
Pray that the Prince of Peace will reign sovereignly in Bedesa, and for safety and wisdom for these brave trainees who will reach out with good news of Jesus’ love!
Thank you for your prayers. We know we will face opposition from the enemy as God’s people unite around the purpose of sharing the gospel and growing the family of God, but together we trust we will have victory through the name of Jesus.
“and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”
Matthew 16:18 (NIV)
